Charlie Dimmock was born in Bredwardine, Herefordshire, England, to a father who worked for British Rail and was an Olympic gold-medal judoka and a mother who worked as an administrator at Hereford Cathedral. She has two brothers, Ben and Jonna. Charlie studied at Westminster School before attending Cambridge University, where she earned a degree in Agricultural History.


During her education, Charlie first became interested in gardens, where she spent much of her time researching her family history.
