Sabrina

Origin and Meaning of Sabrina

The name Sabrina is though to be derived from an ancient Welsh legend about a princess who was tragically drowned in the River Severn, the modern derivation does not induce icons of this specific imagery.

In many European and Slavic nations, the meaning of Sabrina is a royal association. It is much like “Czar-ina, or Tsar-ina,” and invokes notions of power, strong will, and a connection with established bloodlines.
